Melrose (Young Living Essential Oil)

I have to admit that my husband did not believe in just using oils. For the past month, my husband has been complaining about an earache and even went to the doctor multiple times and was diagnosed with an ear infection. He was given medicine, but one night he could not take the pain anymore, so I got out my quick reference guide and looked up earache. I knew that I had to do something because I did not like seeing him in so much pain. I found that I should apply a drop of Melrose onto a cotton ball and have him place it in his ear. We did this for a few nights and it worked. The pain was gone. Plus, this oil blend smells amazing.

If you would like to start this journey to a healthier you message me.

If you would like to place an order you may go here. If you place an order through me I will include a free oil along with a quick reference guide.

1st Grade

Brody man started 1st grade last week. His grandmother and I took him to pick out his book bag and a new lunchbox to help him start to get excited about starting back to school. This is what he decided on:

Two days before school started we got to go meet his teacher and I had to fill out some paperwork. We also were able to droop off his school supplies so that we did not have to worry about it the day school started.

The night before school we let Brody decide what he wanted to eat for dinner and we let him pick out his clothes. We played Legos and watched tons of cartoons. Pretty much we decided to make the night all about Brody and what he wanted to do.

And then it became morning. I thought I was ready for it and that it was going to be easier this time. I mean we had got through kindergarten just fine. Yes, I did cry that first day and the second, but it got easier. I was not prepared to turn into a big baby all over again.

Well, we got up made him breakfast and prepared his lunch. He got dressed and was ready for mama to take some pictures.

Even Tiger wanted to get in on the picture action. Then it was time for us to leave to head to the school. Traffic was horrible this year. It took almost 30 minutes just to get to the school where it normally takes 10. This was fine because it gave me more time with him before he officially became a first grader. We finally got to school and had to find somewhere to park (ended up having to park in the grass behind the school). There were so many people dropping their children off.

I did not have to walk him in this year, but there was no way either of us were going to be ok with that. He was not ready either.

Clearly in the second picture you can see he was not ready to let me go. And I am so thankfully that I got this picture. I was not ready either. I was not prepared to have him go to first grade. I wanted him to be a baby still. At least I knew he was in good hands. His teacher is amazing.

He had a great first day and had so much to tell me when I picked him up.

Needless to say it does not get any easier on the first day of school. He will always be my baby in my eyes and I will cry every first day of school for the rest of his life.

****And yes I cried while writing this****

Angel’s Haven

Today I wanted to share about an animal rescue mission. Angels Haven all started with one sweet little dog named Angel.

They have went on to rescue over 30 dogs and at least 5 cats. Their mission which is shared on their website, can be found here, states that they simply want to rescue animals that have been abandoned and help them find their forever homes. As one can imagine rescuing animals can be costly with vet bills, food, cat litter, and flea medication. They also get the animals spayed or neutered if they are not already. 90% of the time they have been footing the bill out of pocket, but recently one of the rescuers was diagnosed with cancer and has not been able to work. All they ask for are donations or to help get their word out to help place some of the animals with their forever homes. Why buy when you can rescue? Here are some pictures of the animals currently in their care:

They also have 4 new puppies, one of which has been fighting for his life. They have been having to feed him with a bottle and he seems to be having trouble keeping things down. Here is a picture of two of the newest puppies(one on the right is the sick one):

All donations are accepted. There are always in need of Dog food, blankets, Clorox wipes, paper towels and PP pads. You are also able to donate through PayPal. If you would like to help you can visit their website for more information which can be found here.

Young Living

I am beyond thrilled with the results we have had with the young living essential oils. I can say that I have saw a difference since using the oils. I became a member in November 2014 and have not looked back since.

Here is one example of how to use your oils throughout the day:

What exactly comes in the Premium Starter Kit with the 11 essential oils?

  • An essential oils collection with 10 of Young Living’s most popular oils (Lemon, R.C., Thieves, Lavender, Purification, Peppermint, Frankincense, PanAway, DiGize and Copaiba)
  • A bonus oil {Stress Away} to bring your collection up to 11
  • A diffuser of your choice {Home, Dewdrop, Bamboo or Aria}
  • Essential oil sample sachets
  • Essential oil sample bottles
  • Essential oil sample sharing cards
  • 2 packets of NingXia Red
  • 1 roller fitment

Step by step instructions on how to join Young Living Essential Oils:

1. Click here to begin the enrollment process. It’s super easy!

2. I highly recommend the Wholesale Membership. There are NO strings attached for being a wholesale member. You aren’t required to order monthly or anything and you will be saving about 24% this way.

3. Make sure my member number {2197021} is in both the Sponsor ID and Enroller ID spots.

4. Fill out all the required information. Be sure to include your email address as then I will be able to add you to the Facebook page WWTO? Members! which is a wonderful resource to ask questions you may have and to find answers on how to use some of your oils.

5. For the “tax information” slot, your information is safe and secure and only used if you ever share Young Living with a friend or family member. Most will select “individual.” Easy peasy.

6. Choose the kit you want. {I highly recommend one of the Premium Starter Kits.} Then proceed to check out. You can skip the Essential Rewards part for now unless you would like to join ER right away. The ER is a wonderful tool to have a monthly order delivered to your home and you collect Rewards that you can redeem to get more oils and you save money on shipping this way.

7. That’s it! Your oils will be on their way to your doorstep!

I will also include some freebies if you place an order that includes one of the premium starter kits.

If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at

Happy Oiling!

10 Things that Make Me Happy

1. Daniel. While not everyday has been sunshine and roses, he has always been that one person who could make me laugh. I love being able to cuddle up beside him and waking up next to him every morning.

2. Brody. This little boy has been such a ray of sunshine from the moment he entered our lives.

3. Coffee. I’m a straight up addict, people. I love waking up in the morning and pouring myself a cup of coffee as my daily ritual. It is usually best not to talk to me or expect me to do anything until I have had that cup of coffee either.

4. Nice long hot baths. I love being able to soak after a long day.

5. Young living Essential Oils. These little miracles in a bottle are amazing. I love the way almost all of them smell and I love the way I have been able to use them for certain things that I do not need medicine for anymore.

6. Rain. I love the way it sounds and the way it helps cool things down here in Alabama.

7. Receiving little surprises in the mail. When we are constantly getting bills or random trash in the mail it is always nice to have something else in the mail.

8. A good book. I love to curl up on the couch and read a good book.

9. A great wine. Who does not love wine?

10. My two fur babies. They have their moments but I would not trade either of them for the world.

8 years

Eight years ago on June 16th we made a promise to each other and said I DO through good times and bad for richer or poor.

The night before we got married I remember being a nervous wreck. I had no idea what the future would hold for us and niether did he but we knew one thing for sure, we were gonna do life together.

While no relationship is perfect and there will always be ups and downs our life together has opened my heart and mind to a whole new level of happiness, forgiveness, and true love.

September 11th, 2013 A Setback for Brody

Well, on Wednesday the 11th Brody had a set back in his therapy. We were headed onto post where Daniel works and had just made it through the gate when Brody started having a seizure. It was unlike any we’ve seen before. I didn’t even realize it was a seizure at first. He had been asleep and all of a sudden he started blowing bubbles out of his mouth and then he started shaking but not violently shaking. I climbed into the back with him to help hold him stable while Daniel rushed us to the clinic. On this certain post though they only deal with soldiers so when we came running in we got the royal treatment with all the staff coming to our aide along with the MPs and fire fighters. This seizure lasted about 4 minutes(the longest one to date). The ambulance was called and we were taken to the ER where they kept us for a few hours to monitor him and do blood work(all which came back normal). We were released after about 3 hours. I know the doctor said that even on the medicine he could have seizures but I guess I was hoping praying that he wouldn’t have to go through them anymore. It’s so hard watching your child have one and not being able to do anything about it. Friday we had to follow up with his regular doctor on post who upped his medication dosage and wants us to follow up with some lab work on Friday before his morning dose. Continue to keep our little guy in your prayers.
